In the spring of 1991 Bruce Bayard woke up inspired to carve a face on a hollow apple tree in his front yard. He shared the wonderous revelation with his wife Cheryle and she congratulated him and rolled over and went back to sleep. By 7:30 that morning his carving was finished and soon friends had Bruce carve for them. In
the spring of 92 Bayard witnessed a man selling his carvings in the
Adirondacks and saw there was a market for chainsaw art. He brought
himself some logs and for the next year taught himself how to remove
the wood to bring out his whimsical creations.
